April 10th

Monday – Evening

Fuel up for Tom Tom by sharing a meal during the Community Picnic, 5PM-7PM, IX Art Park. This informal potluck will assemble civic groups, nonprofits, student organizations, businesses, and families to celebrate the diversity of our community. Then, stick around for the Crowdfunded Pitch Night, 7PM-9PM, IX Art Park as 10 local entrepreneurs and inventors pitch to a live audience that has  pledged to share funds with their favorite contestant. It’s a three-minute chance to share their vision with the community and inspire the crowd to action!

April 11

Tuesday – Evening

Visit a Farm-to-Table Restaurant Week  location for a locally-sourced dinner, and enjoy one-of-a-kind libations from our Craft Cocktail Competition.

April 12

Wednesday – Evening

After dinner and a cocktail, check out Oracle, 6:30PM & 8:30PM, Old Metropolitan Hall. In this entrancing musical event, the creative minds of Victory Hall Opera mix possibility with performance, allowing the audience to have their fortunes read and revealing their divination through customized arias sung by some of the world’s premier opera singers.

April 13

Thursday – Evening


Kick off the Founders Summit by attending our elegant Speakers & Patrons Gala, 7PM-9PM, Old Metropolitan Hall, honoring keynote speakers and outstanding contributors to the Tom Tom program. Then, stroll down the mall to listen to local musicians perform as part of our Downtown Concert Series, 7PM-12AM, Downtown Mall. Dance the night away during the Silent Disco, 9:30PM-11:30PM, Old Metropolitan Hall, where three genres of high-energy dance music are transmitted to rave enthusiasts via headphones. Choose your station and let the DJs compete for your attention. 

Friday, April 14

Friday – Evening


Friday is packed, with the Founders Summit and the Hometown Summit starting at 9AM, and ending with the Friday Night Block Party, 5PM-8PM, Lee Park.The Hometown Summit is Tom Tom’s newest initiative, highlighting innovative solutions being pioneered in small cities across the country. The Founders Summit is Tom Tom’s marquee event, combining talks, competitions, and exclusive access to leading founders.

Note to foodies: Summit attendees have access to Industry-specific Summit Luncheons, which offer an opportunity to meet and connect with speakers and other attendees. After the Founders Summit, head over to Lee Park for the Friday Night Block Party, 5PM-8PM, Lee Park. With amazing free concerts, a New Belgium Craft Beer Garden, and C’ville’s top-notch food trucks. The first of the weekend’s block parties, it’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend.

April 15

Saturday – Morning


Saturday is full of food and fun, starting at the Charlottesville City Market with the Iron Chef Competition and Local Food Expos at 9 AM.The Iron Chef Competition, 9AM, City Market challenges six chefs to create a dish that is 100% locally-sourced. Each chef has a $50 budget, 35 minutes to tour the farmer’s market, and only 30 minutes to work their culinary magic before presenting their dishes to a discerning  panel of local food celebs.

After the competition, walk down to the Main Street Arena for the Downtown Chili Showdown, 11:30AM-3PM, Main Street Arena featuring dozens of chilis made by both local amateur and professional chefs. Red Shoe Cville will be co-hosting, packing the house to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville.

Saturday – Afternoon/Evening

Starting at noon, check out  the Saturday Block Party, 12PM-11PM, Lee Park  for more great free concerts and local food trucks, as well as some truly outstanding art events: think Art Attack and Artisanal Tom Tom. Starting at 6PM, there’ll also be a Sunset Concert, 12PM-11PM, Lee Park with two of the biggest acts at Tom Tom: Spiritual Rez & The Mantras. After the concert, we’ll continue the party with a nighttime parade up the mall to Mono Loco, led by local favorite ELBY BRASS.

April 16

Sunday – Afternoon/Evening


During the Sunday Block Party, 2:30-8PM, Lee Park, join friends and neighbors for public art, live music, top-notch food, and a giant New Belgium craft beer garden. Tom Tom’s final block party closes the week with local music celebs such as Michael Coleman, the Will Overman Band, Kendall Street Company and Chamomile and Whiskey. When the block party comes to an end, make sure to get one final Farm-to-Table Restaurant Week dinner and Craft Cocktail Competition libation. Remember to cast your final vote for the best Craft Cocktail! Finally, head over to Belmont for one our most beloved events, Porchella, 7PM-9:30PM, Belmont, during which Charlottesville’s best local musicians give pop-up acoustic performances on neighborhood porches throughout the historic Belmont neighborhood.

All Week, April 10-16

Enjoy our Farm-to-Table Restaurant Week menus highlighting local produce and our region’s premier chefs. Make sure to sample the concoctions of our Craft Cocktail Competition mixologists, and get a Tom Tom cocktail featuring at least one local ingredient. Don’t forget to review the cocktail online!

Seasoned professionals from a variety of industries take aspiring entrepreneurs and change-makers out for coffee and one-on-one advice sessions as part of our Office Hours Mentoring Series. Later, catch up with other professionals and creatives at the Friday Night Block Party, 5PM-8PM, Lee Park during our special tech mixer. Created as part of a multi-month project by UVA student Cody Simms, a revitalized Airstream camper serves as an unorthodox community center on wheels. Throughout the spring, the StoryStream, an Airstream Storytelling Project, will travel around Charlottesville collecting and presenting stories from neighborhood residents. Cody and his Airstream will also make an appearance at  the IX Art Park during the Community Picnic, 5PM-7PM, IX Art Park.
