Australia’s Blues Rock artist, 26 year old Hamish Anderson, was the last artist to tour with BB King in 2014 and in 2015 his song “Burn” won Best Blues Song by the Independent Music Awards. After several years of touring that included openers for Robert Cray, Los Lobos and Wynonna Judd and The Rides (featuring Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg), he released his debut album in 2016 called Trouble, produced by Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Ryan Adams) — includes appearances by Johnny Radelat (Gary Clark Jr) and Aaron Sterling (John Mayer) and Chris Bruce (Meshell Ndegeocello).
Shortly after the release, Yahoo! Music named Hamish as a Top 10 “Best New Artists in 2016”, KCSN’s Jim Nelson included Trouble as a Top 10 Best New Album in 2016, the single “Trouble” appears on Spotify’s Blues & Roots Rock Official playlist and Songpickr, a premiere Spotify playlist curator, included the album Trouble as one of the Top 50 Albums of 2016.
In 2017, Hamish has already performed 11 sets during SXSW, opened for Vintage Trouble and Mud Morganfield during Bluesfest Touring Show in Australia, appeared at US festivals such as Firefly, Mountain Jam, High Sierra, Summerfest and Canada’s RBC Bluesfest Ottawa. This September, he’ll be performing at Big Blues Bender in Vegas, Telluride Blues Festival in Colorado and Tom Tom Founders Festival in Charlottesville, Virginia.
