In 1997, Rob was the tenth employee and the only person of color at an Internet startup called Value America. The company grew to 600 employees and went through two IPOs before finally closing its doors in 2000. In 2001, Rob released a classic Hip Hop album called Soon Come on the Sevenheads record label as Blue Black of the Unspoken Heard. In 2003, he earned a Master of Science degree in the Management of Information Technology from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and has been helping mission-driven organizations build capacity in the DC Metropolitan area since 2004. At Groundwork, Rob is responsible for connecting the dots between economic development, workforce development, and tech-entrepreneurship.
